Dr. Matt Peuser

Veterinarian

Dr. Peuser grew up an hour from here in LaCygne, KS. He graduated from K-State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. After spending his first year in practice in a small town near Wichita, he moved to Olathe in the fall of 2008. It was at that practice that his passion for surgery and pain management started. His practice became the first in Kansas to use stem cells in a dog. He became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture in 2012 and a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner in 2013.

Dr. Peuser lives in Olathe with his wife and three boys. When he’s not at work, you’ll most frequently see him at the baseball fields with one of the three, either at games or at practice. He also enjoys golf and poker.

Dr. Emmy Sund

Veterinarian

Dr. Emmy Sund was born and raised on a small family dairy farm in northeast Kansas where she was one of 12 children. She spent much of her childhood milking and caring for the family's herd of registered Holstein dairy cows. After graduating with her B.S. in biology from the University of Dallas in 1998, she worked as a zookeeper and animal trainer at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. While training African elephants, rhinos, seals, and large cats she became interested in pursuing a veterinary career. Dr. Sund completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 from Kansas State University. After graduation, she married a Marine fighter pilot assigned to California. Since then she has practiced medicine all over the country from California's Mojave Desert to beautiful San Diego and our nation's capital, Washington D.C. Upon her husband's retirement from the military, Dr. Sund moved to Olathe in September of 2015. Her professional interests are dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and geriatric medicine. She and her husband have 4 children and can usually be found biking, swimming at the local pool, working on the family dairy farm, or exploring the KC sights.

Dr. Scott Beyer

Veterinarian

Dr. Beyer grew up in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, then moved to the Chicago suburbs to work at a busy small animal hospital. It was in Chicago that he met his wife, Michele. Ten years later, after several visits to family in Kansas City, Emporia, and deep in the Flint Hills, they decided to relocate to Lenexa, Kansas. Dr. Beyer and his wife have two sons and one grandson. In his spare time, he enjoys tinkering in his workshop, working on computers, dabbling with HAM radio, hunting, and fishing.

Dr. Shelbie Wedel

​​​​​​​Dr. Shelbie Wedel grew up in Shawnee, KS. She graduated from Kansas State Veterinary School in 2018 and has been practicing in and around the Kansas City area since. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, especially building relationships with animals and their owners.

Dr. Wedel and her husband, Tyler, currently live in Paola. Together they have a small farm with horses, cattle, chickens, cats, and a dog. When not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling with her husband, and doing projects around their home.
